A wonderfully atmospheric Parisian street scene by French artist André Chochon (1910–2005).
Rendered in oil on artist board, the painting captures a quiet Paris street beneath a canopy of trees, with a lone figure reflected against the rain-darkened pavement. The loose, expressive brushwork and muted palette give the work an understated, cinematic quality.
Signed lower right and presented in a beautifully aged cream and gilt-toned frame.
A particularly charming small French painting for a gallery wall, library, bedroom, entry, or collected interior.
