Angel with Electric Violin, blue Originally, the Christmas angels weren’t meant to be angels at all. In early 1990, the Uhlig company came up with the idea to produce flower children. However, the first prototypes of the figures weren’t completed until summer. Since selling flower children in winter would have been difficult, they were quickly given wings — and thus became angels. Today, there are 750 different versions. They play various instruments, bake Stollen, or float with a candle on the Christmas tree. Each one proudly wears its signature curved wings, available in three color variations: blue, red, and natural wood. They can be collected, given as gifts, personalized, and beautifully arranged — not just during the Christmas season.
