TWO ROADS

Pair of Federal Style Giltwood Eagle Two-Light Wall Sconces, 20th Century

$ 1,575.00

A striking pair of Federal-style giltwood wall sconces featuring spread-wing eagles supporting two scrolling candle arms. Beautifully carved with richly detailed feathers and finished in warm gold leaf, these decorative wall lights draw inspiration from early American Federal designs of the late eighteenth and early nineteenth centuries.

Each eagle is depicted in dramatic flight with outstretched wings, above twin candle cups raised on gracefully curved arms terminating in foliate details. The scale is substantial enough to create a statement while remaining versatile for hallways, libraries, dining rooms, powder rooms, or flanking a mantel.

The patriotic eagle motif makes these sconces particularly appealing for traditional, Americana, and classical interiors.

From the distinguished Wetherill Family Collection of Philadelphia’s Main Line and Château de Drouilly in Les Hayes, France.
